THE PEACEFUL WARRIOR

This is a photo a from a session I that ended up in Mens Health Magazine this month. A great friend of mine who is a wonderful Journalist Neal Bledsoe and I found ourselves at the home of ex pro football player Rashard Mendenhall. What unfolded in that afternoon was the story of a warrior who was one of the best in one of the most violent sports out there, and his journey through early retirement, into becoming a writer on HBO's Ballers, and the creation of Crescent Moon, a form of martial art that Rashard developed to ground the years of pro ball violence into balance power and grace.
